Outreach videos and research guides

Plagiarism

The video was created to act as a conversation starter in our community college courses. After doodling the drawings, I edited them in Photoshop, created the simple animations in Apple Keynote, then recorded the audio in GarageBand. Everything was brought everything together in iMovie. I also worked with our college faculty to develop a full academic honesty guide based on Creative Commons work by Fairfield University.

New Student Orientation

For new student orientation, the library wanted to stand out from the crowd. Instead of being talking heads on stage, we created a music video with a puppet of our college mascot enjoying our library and services.

Librarians Mary Beth Parkinson, Audrey Donaldson, and I recorded the scenes in an afternoon. I then edited the video in Adobe Premiere Pro. As our college mascot is the Mustangs, we could not resist filling the video with Mustang and horse references.

Research Guides

I regularly teach information literacy instruction sessions and create guides to support my classes as well as those of other librarians. Here are two example guides.
