Open Source :: Free Lunch or Free Kittens
Presentation for the Indiana Library Federation District 6 Conference. 4 April 2008 at Ivy Tech Community College in Madison, Indiana.
We covered the types of open source software that could be leveraged to benefit libraries as well as the considerations for implementing the software.
- Here is a copy of the presentation slides and speaker notes in pdf format. The first 18 pages are the slides and the 18 pages are my rough speaker notes.
- The slide show below is a draft of the presentation uploaded to Slide Share as an experiment.
- Links to software used by the Madison-Jefferson County Public Library.
- At bottom are a series of links on open source.
Thanks to everyone who attended the presentation! It was my first and I appreciate your kindness. Keep experimenting! I believe you will find software that you will allow you to grow your library services. Thank you again!
