YourSpace: MJCPL's interactive YA site

The Madison-Jefferson County Public Library has an active young teens program for grades 5-9 and we wanted to create a page that was not only interactive, but allowed them to find their voice. In addition to a blog with a lively comment section, the site also highlights their opinions, writing and reviews.

Ease of maintenance was a requirement as our YA coordinator is a part-time employee. Textpattern allows for easy content creation, however, we found it difficult to create lists of links. We found a solution in the Delicious online social bookmarking system. We tag sites we want to include and Delicious creates the tag cloud we include on our website.
