New Hanover Library: a call to action

In 2008, the Madison-Jefferson County Public Library applied for a federal Community Focus Fund grant to convert a former bank building into a branch library for Hanover, Indiana.
As community support was an integral part of the grant application, I designed a site to describe the process and the project with as much transparency as possible. In addition to answers of frequently asked questions, there was also a call to action for letters of support and donations.
We received many letters and numerous small donations via the website which helped us land the $500,000 grant. Our library continues to use the site to share information on the branch’s progress.
