- Provide reference services utilizing print, Internet, database and human sources for
inquiries made in person, by email and via library web site. - Design and manage library web presence. Redesigned library web site, mjcpl.org,
won ALA recognition in 2006 as traffic increased more than 200 percent. - Create digital history projects in collaboration with local history department.
Coordinated technology, established best practices, web design, content
management, metadata creation and image scanning. - Wrote library’s 2005-07 and 2008-11 Long Range Technology Plans.
- Train patrons and staff in technology use including Internet and database
searching, Microsoft Office and content management systems. - Planned and maintained library technology projects and public access computing.
- Wrote and coordinated $20,000 in grants for public access computers and wireless
Internet services. Contributed materials towards grants worth more than $500,000. - Supervised library on Sundays.
- Develop video and music collections. Created library’s new DVD collection and new
video borrowing policy. - Plan and promote library events such as movie festivals and poetry slams.
- Write and design library communication materials including monthly
newsletters, press releases, posters and acting as the library’s lead blogger.
